Graduation Slideshow 1973

The class of 1973 at Humboldt High was the first (to my knowledge) to present a collage of photos in a slideshow at our graduation ceremony.  I don't remember who came up with the idea but I know the photographers (Me, Jon Porter and Tom Jorgensen) were given the task of coming up with a way to make it happen.  All we ever used was Kodak Tri-X Pan, black & white film but we wanted some color.  We found some color slide film we could process ourselves, ordered it, chemicals and slide mounts and started taking color slides. The original presentation was accompanied by Mr. Gerald Christensen's deep baratone voice reading Desiderada.

I had heard that Mike (Dick Decent) Jorgensen was in possession of the original slides so I contacted him.  He was amazed to find them in a box in his garage.  He shipped them to me for scanning and here they are.  Some are black & white duplicates of shots we took for Nokomis but the color ones were never used anywhere else.  The color has faded on some of the shots but I thought they held up pretty well.

Only about 2/3 of the photos were actually numbered and there were some missing from the sequence.  I weeded out duplicates but the actual order they appear here doesn't follow the original.

Thanks Mike for hanging onto these.  They're classic!
